Frequently Asked E-Scooter Questions

How can I prevent flat tires?

  • Regularly check and inflate your tires using a quality pump (an adapter may be needed).
  • If you get a flat, stop riding immediately to avoid damaging the tire and needing a full replacement.

Are solid tires a good alternative?

Solid tires eliminate the risk of flats entirely but come with trade-offs:

  • They offer less comfort compared to air-filled tires. We've selected the best options to minimize this impact.
  • A hybrid setup (one solid tire and one air-filled) can be a great compromise. We’ll help determine whether a front or rear solid tire is best for your scooter.
  • Some basic e-scooters may experience electronic issues with solid tires. Our technicians can assess compatibility before installation.

How often should I service my e-scooter?

We recommend biannual service plus a seasonal inspection to extend its lifespan. Frequent riders may require more frequent tune-ups, especially for brakes, tires, and electrical components.

How do I use my brakes properly?

  • Always use both brakes simultaneously. Many riders overuse the rear brake, but the front brake is actually more powerful. Engaging both evenly helps distribute wear and provides a smoother stop.
  • If your scooter doesn’t glide as smoothly as it should, your brake pads may be misaligned. Adjust them as soon as possible to prevent damage to your pads and tires.

Do e-bikes and e-scooters require specific brake pads?

Yes, e-bikes and e-scooters experience higher speeds and more intense braking than traditional bikes. For this reason, we stock e-bike-specific brake pads, which are slightly more expensive but offer better durability and performance.

Do you guarantee brake adjustments?

Brake adjustments can be unpredictable. Even with careful tuning, wheels may shift slightly, and cables can stretch quickly in the first few days. To ensure your brakes are working properly, we offer free adjustments for any issues that arise within 24 hours of service—this is in addition to our standard 6-month warranty.

Are e-scooters environmentally friendly?

Yes! E-scooters produce zero emissions, reduce traffic congestion, and use recyclable materials, making them an eco-friendly transportation option.

How reliable are electric scooters?

E-scooters over $1,000 from reputable brands are highly reliable when properly maintained. Advances in battery life, motor power, and durability ensure long-lasting performance.

How much does it cost to service an e-scooter?

Service costs vary based on the repair, starting as low as $10 for minor adjustments to $100+ for major repairs. A tune-up covers all essential checkpoints to keep you riding worry-free.
